Daily life in Korea & ME
2014 New Year's Day 본문
We had New year's day this week
If you have visited my blog last year Probably the pictures won't be new to you.
It's like re-posting same pictures and story. Anyway here are 2014 New year's day pictures.
The main dish of this holiday is tteokguk (Rice-cake soup) (on the right side of picture above)
and the left one is korean wine which my grandmother made
We put wine and ttekguk for each person(ancestor)
This is Sanjeok(Korean shish kebab). After we're done ceremony we have breafast with the foods
we set the table. I don't know why there was soy sauce on the bottom picture with Sanjeok
I don't dip Sanjeok in soy sauce and it's already salty itself.
This is my favorite Korean traditional snack. I'm not sure it's right English word
It's made of glutinous rice and covered with grain syrup and Rice
Rice is made like popcorn. That's why it looks pretty big :D
It's so sweet.
This is another kind of Korean traditonal snack.
This is Sikhye (Sweet rice drink) but this picture we removed the soup and put only rices
Seasoned bracken
Chestnut
Dried persimmon
Dried pollack
I don't know this name, because I don't eat :D
Jeon, This is made of fish or vegetable and mixed with egg and flour
This is not our family cemetery. Most cemetery is not that neat like picture above
We don't put the flowers on someone's cemetery on this day. It was the first time I saw it
